Friends Mittasutta
āMendicants, it is quite impossible that a mendicant with bad friends, companions, and associates, while frequenting, accompanying, and attending, and following their example, will fulfill the practice dealing with the supplementary regulations. āāSo vata, bhikkhave, bhikkhu pÄpamitto pÄpasahÄyo pÄpasampavaį¹ ko, pÄpamitte sevamÄno bhajamÄno payirupÄsamÄno, tesaƱca diį¹į¹hÄnugatiį¹ ÄpajjamÄno ÄbhisamÄcÄrikaį¹ dhammaį¹ paripÅ«ressatÄ«āti netaį¹ į¹hÄnaį¹ vijjati. Without fulfilling the practice dealing with supplementary regulations, itās impossible to fulfill the practice of a trainee. āÄbhisamÄcÄrikaį¹ dhammaį¹ aparipÅ«retvÄ sekhaį¹ dhammaį¹ paripÅ«ressatÄ«āti netaį¹ į¹hÄnaį¹ vijjati.
