Impermanence Aniccasutta
At SÄvatthÄ«. SÄvatthinidÄnaį¹.
āMendicants, form is impermanent. āRÅ«paį¹, bhikkhave, aniccaį¹. Whatās impermanent is suffering. Yadaniccaį¹ taį¹ dukkhaį¹; Whatās suffering is not-self. yaį¹ dukkhaį¹ tadanattÄ; And whatās not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: āThis is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.ā yadanattÄ taį¹ ānetaį¹ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attÄāti evametaį¹ yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ sammappaƱƱÄya daį¹į¹habbaį¹. Seeing truly with right understanding like this, the mind becomes dispassionate and freed from defilements by not grasping. Evametaį¹ yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ sammappaƱƱÄya passato cittaį¹ virajjati vimuccati anupÄdÄya Äsavehi.

If a mendicantās mind is dispassionate towards the form element, the feeling element, RÅ«padhÄtuyÄ ce, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno cittaį¹ virattaį¹ vimuttaį¹ hoti anupÄdÄya Äsavehi, vedanÄdhÄtuyÄ ā¦pe⦠the perception element, saƱƱÄdhÄtuyÄ ā¦ the choices element, saį¹ khÄradhÄtuyÄ ā¦ and the consciousness element, itās freed from defilements by not grasping. viƱƱÄį¹adhÄtuyÄ ce, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno cittaį¹ virattaį¹ vimuttaį¹ hoti anupÄdÄya Äsavehi.
Being free, itās stable. Being stable, itās content. Being content, theyāre not anxious. Not being anxious, they personally become extinguished. VimuttattÄ į¹hitaį¹. ṬhitattÄ santusitaį¹. SantusitattÄ na paritassati. Aparitassaį¹ paccattaƱƱeva parinibbÄyati.
They understand: āRebirth is ended, the spiritual journey has been completed, what had to be done has been done, there is nothing further for this place.āā āKhÄ«į¹Ä jÄti, vusitaį¹ brahmacariyaį¹, kataį¹ karaį¹Ä«yaį¹, nÄparaį¹ itthattÄyÄāti pajÄnÄtÄ«āti.
