āMendicants, if a mendicant depends on enthusiasm in order to gain immersion, gain unification of mind, āChandaƱce, bhikkhave, bhikkhu nissÄya labhati samÄdhiį¹, labhati cittassa ekaggataį¹āthis is called immersion due to enthusiasm. ayaį¹ vuccati chandasamÄdhi. They generate enthusiasm, try, make an effort, exert the mind, and strive so that bad, unskillful qualities donāt arise. So anuppannÄnaį¹ pÄpakÄnaį¹ akusalÄnaį¹ dhammÄnaį¹ anuppÄdÄya chandaį¹ janeti vÄyamati vÄ«riyaį¹ Ärabhati cittaį¹ paggaį¹hÄti padahati.
