The World Lokasutta

ā€œMendicants, there are these four noble truths. ā€œCattārimāni, bhikkhave, ariyasaccāni. What four? Katamāni cattāri? The noble truths of suffering, the origin of suffering, the cessation of suffering, and the practice that leads to the cessation of suffering. Dukkhaṁ ariyasaccaṁ, dukkhasamudayaṁ ariyasaccaṁ, dukkhanirodhaṁ ariyasaccaṁ, dukkhanirodhagāminÄ« paį¹ipadā ariyasaccaṁ. In this world with its gods, Māras, and Divinities, this population with its ascetics and brahmins, its gods and humans, the Realized One is the Noble One. Sadevake loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya tathāgato ariyo; That’s why they’re called ā€˜noble truths’. tasmā ā€˜ariyasaccānī’ti vuccanti.

That’s why you should practice meditation ā€¦ā€ Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, ā€˜idaṁ dukkhan’ti yogo karaṇīyo …pe… ā€˜ayaṁ dukkhanirodhagāminÄ« paį¹ipadā’ti yogo karaṇīyoā€ti.
