How to Use Buddham Dhammam

A few simple tools to help you read, reflect, and return to what matters most.

Reading Tools (Right-Hand Toolbar)

Contents: Jump straight to any section of a long discourse without endless scrolling.

Highlight: Select any passage that speaks to you and mark it in one of three colors. There is no fixed system; use the colors however helps you remember why you saved it.

Note: Write a short personal reflection (up to 6 lines) on a highlighted passage. Choose whether it is a Quote, an Insight, a Question, or a moment of Happiness, so it is easier to find again later. Notes are private and visible only to you.

Parallel: Some passages are shown with more than one translator's rendering. Tap Parallel to view them side by side, or switch to a single translator's version if you prefer to read one voice at a time.

Share: Share the full discourse link. Copy the link, or send it directly through WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram.

Insight: Some reflections are worth sharing beyond your own private notes. Tap Insight on a passage to share a thought, reflection, or personal understanding that may deepen someone else's reading of the same passage.

  • Insights are shown publicly under the passage they are attached to, so your reflection stays connected to the exact teaching that inspired it.
  • You can choose to share as yourself or anonymously.
  • This is a space for genuine reflection, not debate, so insights should stay respectful and in the spirit of the passage.

A+ / A-: Increase or decrease the text size for a more comfortable read.

Previous / Next: Move to the previous or next discourse instantly, without returning to the Teachings menu.

My Dhamma Journal (Left-Hand Panel)

Saved suttas: Save an entire discourse into a folder you create, for example Ethics, Compassion, or anything meaningful to your own practice. Folders keep your reading organized the way you think about it, not only by formal categories.

My notes: Every reflection you write lives here, sorted by type (Quote, Insight, Question, Happiness) and searchable at any time. Tapping a note brings you straight back to the exact passage it came from.

Your saved suttas and your notes are kept in two separate places on purpose. One is your reading list, and the other is your personal reflections. This keeps both simple to browse.

A Note on Privacy

Everything you highlight, save, or write is private by default and visible only to you, unless a feature is clearly marked otherwise.
