Chapter One 14. Paṭhamavagga

“The foremost of my monk disciples in long standing is Koṇḍañña Who Understood. “Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, mama sāvakānaṁ bhikkhūnaṁ rattaññūnaṁ yadidaṁ aññāsikoṇḍañño.

… with great wisdom is Sāriputta. … Mahāpaññānaṁ yadidaṁ sāriputto.

… with psychic power is Mahāmoggallāna. … Iddhimantānaṁ yadidaṁ mahāmoggallāno.

… who advocate austerities is Mahākassapa. … Dhutavādānaṁ yadidaṁ mahākassapo.

… with clairvoyance is Anuruddha. … Dibbacakkhukānaṁ yadidaṁ anuruddho.

… from eminent families is Bhaddiya son of Kāḷīgodhā. … Uccākulikānaṁ yadidaṁ bhaddiyo kāḷigodhāya putto.

… with a charming voice is Bhaddiya the Dwarf. … Mañjussarānaṁ yadidaṁ lakuṇḍaka bhaddiyo.

… with a lion’s roar is Bhāradvāja the Alms-Gatherer. … Sīhanādikānaṁ yadidaṁ piṇḍolabhāradvājo.

… who speak on the teaching is Puṇṇa son of Mantāṇī. … Dhammakathikānaṁ yadidaṁ puṇṇo mantāṇiputto.
