Ethical Sīlavantasutta
“Mendicants, when ethical renunciates are supported by a town or village, “Yaṁ, bhikkhave, sīlavanto pabbajitā gāmaṁ vā nigamaṁ vā upanissāya viharanti. the people there brim with much merit in three ways. Tattha manussā tīhi ṭhānehi bahuṁ puññaṁ pasavanti. What three? Katamehi tīhi? By way of body, speech, and mind. Kāyena, vācāya, manasā. When ethical renunciates are supported by a town or village, Yaṁ, bhikkhave, sīlavanto pabbajitā gāmaṁ vā nigamaṁ vā upanissāya viharanti. the people there brim with much merit in these three ways.” Tattha manussā imehi tīhi ṭhānehi bahuṁ puññaṁ pasavantī”ti.
