“Mendicants, someone with four qualities is placed in hell as if delivered there. “Catūhi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ niraye. What four? Katamehi catūhi? They’re faithless, unethical, lazy, and witless. Assaddho hoti, dussīlo hoti, kusīto hoti, duppañño hoti—Someone with these four qualities is placed in hell as if delivered there. imehi kho, bhikkhave, catūhi dhammehi samannāgato yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ niraye.

Someone with four qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there. Catūhi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ sagge. What four? Katamehi catūhi? They’re faithful, ethical, energetic, and wise. Saddho hoti, sīlavā hoti, āraddhavīriyo hoti, paññavā hoti—Someone with these four qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there.” imehi kho, bhikkhave, catūhi dhammehi samannāgato yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ sagge”ti.
