Verbal Conduct Duccaritasutta
āMendicants, there are these four kinds of bad conduct by way of speech. āCattÄrimÄni, bhikkhave, vacÄ«duccaritÄni. What four? KatamÄni cattÄri? Speech thatās false, divisive, harsh, or nonsensical. MusÄvÄdo, pisuį¹Ä vÄcÄ, pharusÄ vÄcÄ, samphappalÄpoāThese are the four kinds of bad conduct by way of speech. ImÄni kho, bhikkhave, cattÄri vacÄ«duccaritÄni.
There are these four kinds of good conduct by way of speech. CattÄrimÄni, bhikkhave, vacÄ«sucaritÄni. What four? KatamÄni cattÄri? Speech thatās true, harmonious, gentle, and thoughtful.
