Stinginess Macchariyasutta
āMendicants, there are these five kinds of stinginess. āPaƱcimÄni, bhikkhave, macchariyÄni. What five? KatamÄni paƱca? Stinginess with dwellings, families, material things, praise, and the teaching. ÄvÄsamacchariyaį¹, kulamacchariyaį¹, lÄbhamacchariyaį¹, vaį¹į¹amacchariyaį¹, dhammamacchariyaį¹āThese are the five kinds of stinginess. imÄni kho, bhikkhave, paƱca macchariyÄni.
To give up these five kinds of stinginess you should develop the four kinds of mindfulness meditation. ā¦ā Imesaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, paƱcannaį¹ macchariyÄnaį¹ pahÄnÄya ā¦pe⦠ime cattÄro satipaį¹į¹hÄnÄ bhÄvetabbÄāti.
