Stinginess Macchariyasutta

ā€œMendicants, there are these five kinds of stinginess. ā€œPaƱcimāni, bhikkhave, macchariyāni. What five? Katamāni paƱca? Stinginess with dwellings, families, material things, praise, and the teaching. Āvāsamacchariyaṁ, kulamacchariyaṁ, lābhamacchariyaṁ, vaṇṇamacchariyaṁ, dhammamacchariyaṁ—These are the five kinds of stinginess. imāni kho, bhikkhave, paƱca macchariyāni.

To give up these five kinds of stinginess you should develop the four kinds of mindfulness meditation. ā€¦ā€ Imesaṁ kho, bhikkhave, paƱcannaṁ macchariyānaṁ pahānāya …pe… ime cattāro satipaį¹­į¹­hānā bhāvetabbÄā€ti.
