Shackles of the Heart Cetasovinibandhasutta
āMendicants, there are these five shackles of the heart. āPaƱcime, bhikkhave, cetasovinibandhÄ. What five? Katame paƱca? Firstly, a mendicant isnāt free of greed for sensual pleasures. ⦠Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu kÄmesu avÄ«tarÄgo hoti ā¦pe⦠These are the five shackles of the heart. ime kho, bhikkhave, paƱca cetasovinibandhÄ.
To give up these five shackles of the heart you should develop the four bases of psychic power. Imesaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, paƱcannaį¹ cetasovinibandhÄnaį¹ pahÄnÄya ime cattÄro iddhipÄdÄ bhÄvetabbÄ.
