A Perfected One Arahantasutta

ā€œWhen a mendicant is perfected, proficient, ā€œYo hoti bhikkhu arahaṁ katāvÄ«, with defilements ended, bearing the final body: Khīṇāsavo antimadehadhārÄ«; would they say, ā€˜I speak’, Ahaṁ vadāmÄ«tipi so vadeyya, or even ā€˜they speak to me’?ā€ Mamaṁ vadantÄ«tipi so vadeyyÄā€ti.

ā€œWhen a mendicant is perfected, proficient, ā€œYo hoti bhikkhu arahaṁ katāvÄ«, with defilements ended, bearing the final body: Khīṇāsavo antimadehadhārÄ«; they would say, ā€˜I speak’, Ahaṁ vadāmÄ«tipi so vadeyya, and also ā€˜they speak to me’. Mamaṁ vadantÄ«tipi so vadeyya; Skillful, understanding the world’s labels, Loke samaƱƱaṁ kusalo viditvā, they’d use these terms as mere expressions.ā€ Vohāramattena so vohareyyÄā€ti.

ā€œWhen a mendicant is perfected, proficient, ā€œYo hoti bhikkhu arahaṁ katāvÄ«, with defilements ended, bearing the final body: Khīṇāsavo antimadehadhārÄ«; is such a mendicant drawing close to conceit Mānaṁ nu kho so upagamma bhikkhu, if they’d say, ā€˜I speak’, Ahaṁ vadāmÄ«tipi so vadeyya; or even ā€˜they speak to me’?ā€ Mamaṁ vadantÄ«tipi so vadeyyÄā€ti.

ā€œSomeone who has given up conceit has no ties, ā€œPahÄ«namānassa na santi ganthā, the ties of conceit are all dissipated. VidhÅ«pitā mānaganthassa sabbe; Though that intelligent person has transcended conceiving, Sa vÄ«tivatto maƱƱataṁ sumedho, they’d still say, ā€˜I speak’, Ahaṁ vadāmÄ«tipi so vadeyya.

and also ā€˜they speak to me’. Mamaṁ vadantÄ«tipi so vadeyya, Skillful, understanding the world’s labels, Loke samaƱƱaṁ kusalo viditvā; they’d use these terms as mere expressions.ā€ Vohāramattena so vohareyyÄā€ti.
