“Who’s your friend while journeying? “Kiṁsu pavasato mittaṁ, Who’s your friend at home? kiṁsu mittaṁ sake ghare; Who’s your friend in need? Kiṁ mittaṁ atthajātassa, Who’s your friend in the next life?” kiṁ mittaṁ samparāyikan”ti.

“A caravan is your friend while journeying. “Sattho pavasato mittaṁ, Mother is your friend at home. mātā mittaṁ sake ghare; An ally in a time of need Sahāyo atthajātassa, is a friend time and again. hoti mittaṁ punappunaṁ; But the good deeds you’ve done yourself—Sayaṅkatāni puññāni, that’s your friend in the next life.” taṁ mittaṁ samparāyikan”ti.
