Lamp Pajjotasutta

ā€œWhat’s the lamp for the world? ā€œKiṁsu lokasmi pajjoto, What in the world is wakeful? kiṁsu lokasmi jāgaro; Who are one’s work colleagues? Kiṁsu kamme sajÄ«vānaṁ, What is one’s walk of life? kimassa iriyāpatho.

What nurtures the idle and the tireless, Kiṁsu alasaṁ analasaƱca, like a mother her child? Mātā puttaṁva posati; By what do the creatures who live off the earth Kiṁ bhÅ«tā upajÄ«vanti, sustain their life?ā€ Ye pāṇā pathavissitÄā€ti.
