Things That Tighten Fetters Saṁyojaniyasutta

At Sāvatthī. Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

“Mendicants, I will teach you the things that tighten the fetters, and the fetter. “Saṁyojaniye ca, bhikkhave, dhamme desessāmi saṁyojanañca. Listen … Taṁ suṇātha.

What are the things that tighten the fetters? And what is the fetter? Katame ca, bhikkhave, saṁyojaniyā dhammā, katamaṁ saṁyojanaṁ?

Form is something that’s prone to being fettered. Rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, saṁyojaniyo dhammo; The desire and greed for it is the fetter. yo tattha chandarāgo, taṁ tattha saṁyojanaṁ.
