A Stream-Enterer SotÄpannasutta
āMendicants, there are these five faculties. āPaƱcimÄni, bhikkhave, indriyÄni. What five? KatamÄni paƱca? The faculties of pleasure, pain, happiness, sadness, and equanimity. Sukhindriyaį¹, dukkhindriyaį¹, somanassindriyaį¹, domanassindriyaį¹, upekkhindriyaį¹. A noble disciple comes to truly understand these five facultiesā origin, disappearance, gratification, drawback, and escape. Yato kho, bhikkhave, ariyasÄvako imesaį¹ paƱcannaį¹ indriyÄnaį¹ samudayaƱca atthaį¹ gamaƱca assÄdaƱca ÄdÄ«navaƱca nissaraį¹aƱca yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ pajÄnÄtiāSuch a noble disciple is called a stream-enterer, not liable to be reborn in the underworld, bound for awakening.ā ayaį¹ vuccati, bhikkhave, ariyasÄvako sotÄpanno avinipÄtadhammo niyato sambodhiparÄyaį¹oāti.
