Associate only with the virtuous, “Sabbhireva samāsetha, the astute ones who see the goal. paṇḍitehatthadassibhi; The wise ones, diligent and clear-seeing, Atthaṁ mahantaṁ gambhīraṁ, realize the goal duddasaṁ nipuṇaṁ aṇuṁ; so great and profound, Dhīrā samadhigacchanti, hard to see, subtle, and fine. appamattā vicakkhaṇā”ti.

That is how this verse was recited by the senior venerable Puṇṇa son of Mantāṇī. Itthaṁ sudaṁ āyasmā puṇṇo mantāṇiputto thero gāthaṁ abhāsitthāti.
