“There are these two gifts. “Dvemāni, bhikkhave, dānāni. What two? Katamāni dve? A gift of things of the flesh and a gift of the teaching. Āmisadānañca dhammadānañca. These are the two gifts. Imāni kho, bhikkhave, dve dānāni. The better of these two gifts is the gift of the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ dānānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammadānan”ti.

“There are these two offerings. “Dveme, bhikkhave, yāgā. What two? Katame dve? An offering of things of the flesh and an offering of the teaching. Āmisayāgo ca dhammayāgo ca. These are the two offerings. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve yāgā. The better of these two offerings is an offering of the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ yāgānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammayāgo”ti.

“There are these two acts of generosity. “Dveme, bhikkhave, cāgā. What two? Katame dve? Generosity with things of the flesh and generosity with the teaching. Āmisacāgo ca dhammacāgo ca. These are the two acts of generosity. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve cāgā. The better of these two acts of generosity is generosity with the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ cāgānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammacāgo”ti.

“There are these two kinds of charity. “Dveme, bhikkhave, pariccāgā. What two? Katame dve? Charity in things of the flesh and charity in the teaching. Āmisapariccāgo ca dhammapariccāgo ca. These are the two kinds of charity. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve pariccāgā. The better of these two kinds of charity is a charity in the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ pariccāgānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammapariccāgo”ti.

“There are these two riches. “Dveme, bhikkhave, bhogā. What two? Katame dve? Riches in things of the flesh and riches in the teaching. Āmisabhogo ca dhammabhogo ca. These are the two riches. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve bhogā. The better of these two riches is riches in the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ bhogānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammabhogo”ti.

“There are these two kinds of enjoyment. “Dveme, bhikkhave, sambhogā. What two? Katame dve? Enjoyment of things of the flesh and enjoyment of the teaching. Āmisasambhogo ca dhammasambhogo ca. These are the two kinds of enjoyment. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve sambhogā. The better of these two kinds of enjoyment is the enjoyment of the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ sambhogānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammasambhogo”ti.

“There are these two kinds of sharing. “Dveme, bhikkhave, saṁvibhāgā. What two? Katame dve? Sharing things of the flesh and sharing the teaching. Āmisasaṁvibhāgo ca dhammasaṁvibhāgo ca. These are the two kinds of sharing. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve saṁvibhāgā. The better of these two kinds of sharing is sharing the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ saṁvibhāgānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammasaṁvibhāgo”ti.

“There are these two kinds of inclusion. “Dveme, bhikkhave, saṅgahā. What two? Katame dve? Inclusion in things of the flesh and inclusion in the teaching. Āmisasaṅgaho ca dhammasaṅgaho ca. These are the two kinds of inclusion. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve saṅgahā. The better of these two kinds of inclusion is inclusion in the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ saṅgahānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammasaṅgaho”ti.

“There are these two kinds of support. “Dveme, bhikkhave, anuggahā. What two? Katame dve? Support in things of the flesh and support in the teaching. Āmisānuggaho ca dhammānuggaho ca. These are the two kinds of support. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve anuggahā. The better of these two kinds of support is support in the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imesaṁ dvinnaṁ anuggahānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammānuggaho”ti.

“There are these two kinds of sympathy. “Dvemā, bhikkhave, anukampā. What two? Katamā dve? Sympathy in things of the flesh and sympathy in the teaching. Āmisānukampā ca dhammānukampā ca. These are the two kinds of sympathy. Imā kho, bhikkhave, dve anukampā. The better of these two kinds of sympathy is sympathy in the teaching.” Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imāsaṁ dvinnaṁ anukampānaṁ yadidaṁ dhammānukampā”ti.
