5.3.5. Chapter on the Present and Future (Paccuppannanagatavāra)Yo dukkhasaccaṁ parijānāti so samudayasaccaṁ pajahissatīti? No.

This person comprehends suffering-truth. Will that eradicate origination-truth? No.Yo vā pana samudayasaccaṁ pajahissati so dukkhasaccaṁ parijānātīti? No.

Or else, this person will eradicate origination-truth. Does that person comprehend suffering-truth? No.Yo dukkhasaccaṁ na parijānāti so samudayasaccaṁ nappajahissatīti?

This person does not comprehend suffering-truth, Will that person not eradicate origination-truth? These persons who will attain the path, do not comprehend suffering-truth; but (it is) not that they will not eradicate origination-truth. Arahants and common worldlings who will not attain the path, do not comprehend suffering-truth and also will not eradicate origination-truth.Ye maggaṁ paṭilabhissanti te dukkhasaccaṁ na parijānanti, no ca samudayasaccaṁ nappajahissanti. Arahā ye ca puthujjanā maggaṁ na paṭilabhissanti te dukkhasaccañca na parijānanti samudayasaccañca nappajahissanti.

Or else, this person will not eradicate origination-truth. Does that person not comprehend suffering-truth? Arahatta path person will not eradicate origination-truth; but (it is) not that he does not comprehend suffering-truth.Yo vā pana samudayasaccaṁ nappajahissati so dukkhasaccaṁ na parijānātīti?

Arahant and common worldlings who will not attain the path, will not eradicate origination-truth and also do not comprehend suffering-truth.Aggamaggasamaṅgī samudayasaccaṁ nappajahissati, no ca dukkhasaccaṁ na parijānāti. Arahā ye ca puthujjanā maggaṁ na paṭilabhissanti te samudayasaccañca nappajahissanti dukkhasaccañca na parijānanti.
